This piece was created as part of my first solo exhibition entitled 'GAANBONA' meaning Bright & Colourful in Taungurung language of the Eastern Kulin Nations.
Artwork Story
Dhumdjerri 'To Meet' celebrates the significance of meeting places in Aboriginal and Torres Strait culture as spaces of connection, storytelling and community. The vibrant colours reflect the energy and warmth of gatherings, where people come together to share knowledge, strengthen relationships, and pass down traditions.
