In her first exhibition, Aimee McCartney submitted her artwork "Protection Shield" to the annual Koorie Heritage Trust Art Show 2021. This artwork represents a strong relationship with country and the endless journey in connecting to culture, country and ourselves. The central layered diamond pattern signifies Aimee's lineage and the generations she has been able to learn and observe from. The bronze side patterns and linework embody the scarred trees along the Yarra River who have and who continue to be a source of strength and protection. Aimee was the first artist to sell her artwork at the 2021 Art Show.
