In early February 2023, Luruk-In completed a mural for the Defence Force School of Languages at RAAF Williams - Laverton.
The Defence Force School of Languages (DFSL) is part of the Australian Defence College, the strategic provider of joint professional military education and individual training for Australian Defence Force. DFSL delivers language and cultural training to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel. Training is provided in 18 languages to meet the language capability requirements of Defence.
Aimee from Luruk-In was able to create a colourful mural reflecting the coming together of staff and students to learn about languages, culture and customs. The main focal point is the meeting place and the river which symbolises the students eagerness to learn another language and how history and culture transcends over generations and generations. This piece is situated in the DFSL breakout garden and blends in with the colourful sitting area.
